 “a small seaside town with great charm” Aldeburgh is a small fishing town, unspoilt by modern times. Fishermen still pull their boats up onto the beach and sell their catch from huts on the beach. Aldeburgh has become fashionable, but retains all its old world charm. The Moot Hall which houses the town's museum sits on the seafront, and is a focal point, with its ancient timbers and outside staircase. The Town Steps just off the High Street, offer a view over the town and out to sea. There are many independent shops and in June there is the Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts, which was begun by the composer Benjamin Britten in the 1940s. Many of the events and concerts are held in Aldeburgh with the larger concerts and recitals held in nearby Snape Maltings Concert Hall. There is a pleasant coastal walk to....

A quaint, up-market seaside resort at the turn of the century, Thorpeness is now a firm favourite with visitors. Boating is available on 'The Mere', there is a a good beach, restored windmill and 'The House in the Clouds' - a former water tower which is now a dwelling.

Snape Maltings is a unique collection of granaries and malthouses nestling beside the River Alde. Shops, galleries, restaurants and the world class concert hall fill the old buildings. There are a number of events taking place at the Maltings including river trips, farmers markets, exhibitions and guided river walks.
Southwold is a charming, north Suffolk seaside town on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Almost an island, being bounded by the North Sea to the East, by the River Blyth and Southwold harbour to the Southwest and by Buss Creek to the North, there is just the one road in and out of Southwold. 
A delightful seaside village which seems to have 'stood still in time' for decades. Sand/shingle beach and extensive sand dunes. Some interesting buildings and two pubs serving good food and local ales. Good walks and superb views to to Southwold further up the coast. Home to the annual “World Crabbing Championship”. Completely unspoilt. A gem
